Farmers’ Clubs for Holistic and Sustainable Agriculture
Integrated Community Development Program Program at Thingba Khullen and Thingba Khunou villages of Senapati District in Manipur came up with the concept of forming Farmer’s Club in these two villages. A year back Farmer’s Club was formed in each village under the coordinator of Rev. Sr Liseena HC. A training programe on holistic approach to sustainable agriculture was organized for the members of the Farmer’s Club. 45 members from the clubs participated in the training Integrated Community Development Program Program at Thingba Khullen and Thingba Khunou villages of Senapati District in Manipur came up with the concept of forming Farmer’s Club in these two villages. A year back Farmer’s Club was formed in each village under the coordinator of Rev. Sr Liseena HC. A training programe on holistic approach to sustainable agriculture was organized for the members of the Farmer’s Club. 45 members from the clubs participated in the training held on 20th April 2016. The resource persons were from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Senapati and the topics were on Organic Farming Practices, Weeds and Pest Management and Soil Health. After the training all the farmers received seeds of different vegetables and sapling.
