Inauguration of Supplementary Education Centre at Bongaon, Guwahati

FAsCE India, the social action wing of the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales Northeast India Province ventured again into the field of education of the poor and less privileged children by initiating a Supplementary Education Centre at Bongaon village, near Guwahati The new Supplementary Education Centre was inaugurated by Fr. Saji George, the Executive Director, on 10th July 2016 at Bongaon in the presence of Fr. Clean Arengh, the Associate Director and also in the auspicious presence of the Village Headman, Community Leaders, FAsCE India Staff and 30 Children with their parents, friends and well-wishers. Highlighting the necessity and importance of the education of the children and their role in the community, society and nation building, Fr. Saji George dedicated the center to the people of Bongaon. The children were given free textbooks and notebooks for their studies. The aim of the supplementary centre is to provide both school-going and non-school going children the opportunities of developing themselves in knowledge, talents, capacities and value based education.
