FAsCE India Celebrates International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March all over the world. In order to appreciate and acknowledge the contributions of women in the society and above all to felicitate SHG women, FAsCE India along with its Self Help Groups anticipated the celebration of the International Women’s day on March 6, 2016 at the premises of SFS Higher Secondary School, Satgaon, Narengi. 250 women participants of all the SHG members gathered with the purpose of celebrating womanhood, their indispensable contributions to the society and their achievements.  In his words of welcome Fr. Saji George, the new Director of FAsCE India expressed his joy to welcome the esteemed guests and all the participants. He spoke on the significance of the day which had brought the gathering together for the celebration, and appreciated the contributions of women at home and in the socio-cultural and economic spheres of lives. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Mrs Jahnabi Goswami,President of Assam Network of Positive People, an eminent HIV /AIDS activist and defender of women's rights shared about her life and the challenges she had faced as an HIV positive person. She urged the women of FAsCE India self Help groups to stand up for their rights and to be the catalyst change in the society. The members were touched by her inspiring life- experience and her optimistic outlook and zeal towards life.
